SPRING/SUMMER 14

'Summer Nights In The Garden'

Most pieces in the SS14 collection can still be ordered.

In this collection, entitled 'Summer Nights In The Garden', William's trademark use of florals is taken to a new level: outsize abstracted peonies, laser cut lily silhouettes in mirrored styrene, floral printed straw and Scottish lace coolies stand alongside aubergine teardrop berets, magenta rose discs and golden Milano twists.  Trilby, cloche, upsweep and pillbox shapes also feature in the collection, with navy, claret, black, white and ivory making up the remainder of the palette.

The key inspiration for this collection is Chambers’ own garden in Scotland. Gardening is another passion of the designer’s and he spends many hours tending to the flowers and plants that he grows there:

William said of the collection:

The beautiful weather of Summer 2013 has meant I’ve been out in the garden most evenings, enjoying the extra long Scottish summer nights. As the sun starts to go down the colours of the flowers and leaves become richer and even more intense: white lilies and peonies have an ivory glow against the navy sky and magenta roses and camellias turn to deep claret tones. The barks of the trees turn golden and reflective surfaces glint like crystals. This transient, romantic mood at dusk has been the main inspiration for this collection. ”
